About

From Me to You...

At Yoga with Lisa P, I am dedicated to helping you achieve your wellness and healing goals through the practice of yoga and wellness techniques. I am passionate about guiding individuals through practices such as breath-work, meditation, yoga, reflective writing, and creativity in a variety of settings. I believe in self-love, and taking the time for you is part of that; so I applaud you for embarking on this journey.

 

When you book an experience, I encourage you to give yourself grace, let your experience be about connecting with yourself , and have fun while doing so.  I am committed to creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can feel supported and empowered. My hope for you is that you will step onto your mat or simply join a class/workshop and feel as though you have come back home to yourself.

My Story...

I believe we go through difficult situations in life because we are meant to help others who will be going through something similar. This has been my reality at least. I’m naturally a positive person, but navigating the loss of my mother who was also my best friend was a real blow. Shortly after, I was then navigating a difficult split; so needless to say that positive light became dim. Even at my lowest, I knew there had to be a reason why I was going through this. I was determined to heal and so I set off on a journey to rediscover who Lisa was. The beautiful part about healing is that when you say yes to it, the universe will make sure it helps you through it. Throughout these years, I have met wonderful teachers and guides who have allowed me to gain a variety of experiences, techniques, and insights to help in the healing process of both myself and others. Rebuilding myself has been a beautiful gift and if you are willing, I would love to be a part of your journey as well.

My Background....

Graduating from Laurentian University with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion, I then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Education the following year. Since September of 2013 I have been an elementary school teacher. This has allowed me to step into a variety of roles such as coaching (soccer, volleyball and basketball), being a divisional lead, pastoral lead, as well as a technology lead for my schools. Additionally, I have lead a Girls Group, empowering young girls to see their true value and step into their self-confidence. I believe in giving back to my community, so I have enjoyed volunteering at Power Yoga Canada, The Covenant House, and within my community through a neighborhood food initiative. I am a certified yoga instructor, having completed my 200hr Yoga Alliance certification with Happy Jack Yoga University. Currently, I am working on my meditation teacher training, as well as a Yoga for Grief course certification.  I look forward to attaining my 500hr Yoga Alliance certification as well (including yoga for life coaching). As a life long learner, I believe in continuing my education and experience throughout the years to come.
